Hello all,
I know I haven't been posting lately, actually I am doing a Master degree in Marketing and my exams start the 10th of the coming May... so whish me Luck!! this post is just to give you a "PROOF OF LIFE" but I couldn't leave the post empty, so this is my very latest production.. its amazing what you can learn from tutorial books I just can't stop buying books about aquarelle. One thing that I really did bad in this painting is that the water reflection isn't really coherent with the hill itself...!!!! Sorry for that :) but I am rather satisfied with my water reflections shapes, do you agree ????

I definitely agree and for me, I don't see any inconsistency. This is striking.
and wow, you are a busy person.
Glad to see another post by you.

Hi Doudy--nice to see a post from you. This is a lively, bright painting; I like it very much. I don't think the fact that the reflection doesn't exactly mirror the hill is a concern or detriment in any way. If you are trying to make it exact, that's one thing, but (as far as I am concerned) it doesn't have to be for the image to "work" --which it does; I know that's water.
Good luck on your exams--I know you're a good student!
THANX Sandy & Laura, its nice to know that you still come and visit me even if i was not posting for a while. You are great artists...
Hey you! Glad to hear you're hard at work on a new degree. I'll pick your brain when your a master of marketing. As for the reflection - no big deal! It doesn't have to match exactly - it depends on where you're viewing the hill and where that stands in relation to the topography of the water and we, the viewers of the painting, can't tell what your, the painters, viewpoint really was. We get the reflection and that it's reflecting the hill. That's plenty. I'll bet if you start really looking at same instances in other paintings (I'm thinking David Hockney but can't bring a particular to mind) you'll see the same types of thing happening. Anyway, it's an illusion, a suggestion. Wow! I have to wait on making comments till after my morning coffee has worn off!
thanx Suzanne for your great comments!!!
Doudy - I am so glad to see that you have posted again. I wasn't concerned with what you posted but what happened to you. Frankly there are many of us here in the US that worry a great deal with the actions of our foreign policy and are concerned with friends anywhere in the Mid East at this point in time. Please don't go so long with out at least a pencil line. By the way, Suzanne said it best; although some attention to this could produce some interesting results. Keep up with finals.
Great to see you painting and good luck on the exams! Family, art, school, travel - I don't know how you do it all! :)
Great to see your post, Doudy, this is a lovely watercolor! The inconsistency - if it is that - doesn't bother me at all. Remember, you are the artist, and what you are communicating is not a mere replica of reality. The reflections are great in my view. Good luck with your exams :)))
Thanx Mineke, yes you are wright...art should not be a mere copy or replicant of what we see....Anyway thanx for your kind words of encouragement.
And i'll keep you in touch of how my exams turned out :)
Hi Doudy! it seems we've boh been busy lately. It's great to see your works too. I like the effect of the lights behind the buildings and the sensation of depth you gave to it. I'd love to one day see that beautiful sight with my own eyes. Best wishes and hugs.
PS LOTS and LOTS of LUCK for your exams!!
Hi Martin, yes to see it with your own eyes is quite amazing because you can't imagine the number of minarets with different styles... just besides the Salah eddin Citadel its amazing really!!! I am glad you've liked my drawing.
By the way your latest life drawings are very nice keep up the good work.
Glad to hear that all is well with you. Good luck on your exams!
Just waving high, coming to see if you've updated! Hope all is going well.
